Day 5

On Day 5 former professional cyclist Claudio Camin joined the ranks of the team. The days route was one of the more demanding with steep inclines that required riding at a 15 – 18 degree incline for up to 10km. While the teams formation split up, each rider stayed focused on the goal and tested their own stamina individually.

A height of 2,320 meters was achieved, the highest point being Tre Cime di Lavaredo, in addition to overcoming one of the longest days of climbing there was also the satisfaction that comes when you’re literally standing at the top of the world. As a reward the team got to spend the last 20km of the trip costing downhill like comets.

Their final night with mountain lodging was spent at the Hotel Santer in Toblach, a gentle nest to host them before making their way onward.
