Interview

Where are you from?
Disley, Cheshire.

Occupation
Waitress, bar maid and cyclist.

How long have you been cycling?
5 years.

How many km do you think you ride in a year?
I think I ride around 15,000 km per year, while racing up to 2 – 3 times per week.

What has been your largest cycling challenge?
Tour de Bretagne, a 4 day pro-stage race in France.

What motivated you to participate in this tour?
The opportunity to ride with people I’ve never met before from around the world in a beautiful country I have never visited. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us!

What is it about cycling that makes you happy?
Cycling is a sport that makes me feel free and refreshed. The racing makes me excited, as you never know what could happen, then when you have a good achievement it’s a happy time, a time to celebrate. Cycling is a very social sport as well, so when you have a day off from hard training, you can meet your cycling friends at the cafe, catch up. I always have fun and never stop laughing. I think that is very important in life, to find something that is fun and makes you happy.
